Mike Dexter serves as President of the firm. His career includes 18 years in New Mexico, plus 16 years of consulting engineering in New York City. He has a broad range of experience in the management and engineering of mechanical/electrical systems for buildings and campuses, including both master planning and design. His specialties include: healthcare facilities, central utility systems and system optimization. Dexter is a Principal and is registered in mechanical and fire protection engineering, and is a certified ASHRAE Healthcare Facilities Design Professional. He is a member of several technical societies, former president of the New York Chapter of ASHRAE, and recipient of the Energy Engineer of the Year award by the New Mexico Chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers.

Rich J. Reif, PE, LEED AP

Rich Reif is a Vice President, and serves as Principal-in-Charge/ Project Manager and Mechanical Engineer for the commercial group. He specializes in designing building environments for educational, medical, laboratory, office and manufacturing facilities. He oversees design production and drawing submittals and conducts field investigations. Reif also has experience with energy studies and economic analysis for equipment selections. He is currently serves on the NAIOP Board of Directors in Albuquerque.

Robert Conley is a Principal who is actively involved with his clients, team and projects. Primary areas of design expertise include: Sandia National Laboratories, Department of Defense, higher education and industrial market sectors. With a broad project experience resume, he has successfully managed new construction and renovation projects related to research and development laboratories, biosafety laboratories, data centers, central plants, telecommunication facilities, DOD/DOE design-build and LEED certification/sustainable design. His philosophy is to understand the client's needs, comprehend the project criteria and execute comprehensive design solutions that address the current requirements with an eye towards future needs while maintaining project quality, schedule and available budget.

Ron Vanaman is a Vice President and serves as the Principal-in-Charge for Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) A/E task orders, design-build and line item contracts. Since joining the firm in 1987, his design experience includes many commercial, governmental and industrial projects related to office buildings, computer/data centers, high security facilities, laboratories, telecommunication facilities, education, medical, manufacturing and retail projects. He has been involved in over 1,000 design projects for SNL under multiple task order contracts. He is also leading the firm's Building Information Modeling adoption, incorporating new software design tools and processes to further enhance our project design capabilities.

Scott Atwater is a Vice President and the Principal-in-Charge/Lead Mechanical Engineer for contracts at Los Alamos National Laboratory, State of New Mexico, Kirtland Air Force Base and the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant. He has over 25 years of experience which includes: office buildings, aircraft support hangers, vehicle maintenance, computer/data centers, SCIF facilities, public safety facilities, laboratories and command/emergency operations centers.

Steve O'Brien is a Vice President and the Office Manager for the Phoenix office. He brings a broad range of project experience including work in healthcare, commercial, industrial and institutional facilities. His design experience includes facility assessment studies, pre-design investigation, opinions of probable construction cost, heating and cooling load calculations, HVAC system design, medical and laboratory gas design, process piping design, heat recovery systems, central plant and site utility design, specification editing, EMCS design, sequence of operation editing, preparational pre-purchase specifications, IEC compliance verification and quality assurance reviews. O'Brien has vast experience with the latest generation of HVAC systems, including dedicated outdoor air systems, radiant floor heating systems, radiant floor cooling systems, radiant ceiling cooling systems, displacement ventilation, VAV thermal difference, gas-exchange, chilled water thermal storage, ice storage system, and has completed several energy consumption analyses of traditional HVAC system components to the new generation HVAC systems.

Steve Simon is a Vice President, Principal/Lead Mechanical Engineer and serves as the Office Manager for the Houston office. His experience covers all aspects of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) system design and the design of central plants, thermal distribution systems, and their interface with building systems. Simon specializes in project definition, master planning, design, project management and construction administration for state agencies, universities, healthcare institutions and other commercial clients. He has designed the installation of chillers totaling over 100,000 tons, and piping distribution systems totaling over 72,000 ft/14 miles. He has managed and produced infrastructure master plans for 25 facilities totaling over 30 million SF, and designed utility system upgrades at over 20 institutions of higher education.

Bill Herbst is the Chairman of the Board and Chief Financial Officer. He is also a Principal and Project Manager with 29 years of experience covering all aspects of exterior utility and interior building systems. This experience includes the design of electrical and power distribution systems, controls, lighting design, fire protection systems, communication systems, energy-conserving electrical systems and special systems. He is the firm's leading electrical engineer for highly specialized building environments at commercial, industrial and institutional facilities.
