Presbyterian Healthcare Services’ Rust Medical Center underwent a multiphase transformation in which the original 90,000 SF hospital was developed to a multi-building campus with a 535,000 SF hospital, 101,000 SF medical office building, and 11,000 SF central plant.
Designed with the patients and convenience in mind, Rust offers all private patient rooms that are adaptable to any level of care, including in-room procedures. The original five-story hospital complex, and a 90,000 SF medical office building, offers 72 private patient rooms including intensive care rooms, a Women’s Center with 15 mother/baby rooms, four labor and delivery rooms, the only Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Sandoval County, a surgery suite, imaging suite, orthopedics, CVL/interventional radiology and a full-service emergency department with helipad.
The Rust Medical Center New Patient Tower 2 included a new six-story tower which includes patient rehab space, new operating rooms and an outpatient cancer center. The tower has capacity for up to 120 additional beds, including 24 orthopedic beds, 24 medical/surgical beds; the second-story space has four operating rooms and 12 to 15 preparation/recovery bays.
